The opening theme song for Oshi no Ko , "Idol," composed by the musical duo YOASOBI , reached number 1 on the Billboard Global . This was a historic record, as "Idol" was the first Japanese song to reach number one on this American chart.

Billboard's Global rankings are based on the number of downloads on music streaming services outside the United States. According to Billboard data, "Idol" received 45.7 million streams and, between May 26 and June 1, had 24,000 download sales. Additionally, YOASOBI's official profile posted a thank-you message to celebrate the reach their song achieved.

 "This is the first song originally performed in Japanese to reach the top of this chart! Thank you so much."

Synopsis:

The story follows a doctor named Gorou , a fan of a 16-year-old idol named Ai Hoshino . One day, Hoshino appears at his office, claiming to be pregnant with twins, but her manager tells her to abort the babies. However, the idol refuses to abort; she wants to have both children. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know that an encounter with a mysterious figure will result in his premature death, or so he thought. However, upon opening his eyes in the arms of his beloved idol, Gorou discovers he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino , Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon discovers that the world of showbiz is full of controversies, where talent doesn't always bring success.

Finally , Akasaka and Yokoyari launched the manga in Shueisha 's Young Jump in 2020. Volume 12 of the manga was published on March 17, 2023 in Japan.
